What is Shishu Greh? (Q and A)

I live in India and I would like to know what actually Shishu Greh is?

Answer: Literally, the meaning of the phrase in Sanskrit means “Children’s Home”. This is a scheme of the government of India to promote in-country adoptions. Any eligible NGO can apply for this scheme and they are entitled to receive a grant of Rs. 6,00,000/- for a unit of every 10 children. Private organizations receive the grant in the ratio of 90:10 and the government run organizations receives the grant in full. Shishu Greh’s cannot charge the adoptive parents.
