Keeping culture

Adoption tip # 48

While waiting for your child to come home, you could look up special holidays or traditions that are celebrated in your child's homeland and hometown. Choose some that fit best into your family and have fun with them. Try cooking a dish that is made in your child's region on the particular holiday. By celebrating these when your child arrives, and as they grow, they will know how important thier beginnings are to you and that you value the place that your child comes from. It will be fun to learn about another culture and place and your child will know that they are very special to you when you celebrate them. At the same time your child will be learning about thier first home.
Have a Happy Independance Day!
