If you live in the state of Tamilnadu, chances are that you’ve heard about “Cradle Baby Scheme” – a government program that claimed to have saved literally hundred of children from being killed or abandoned. There’s an article in “Tehelka” magazine in India which seem to question the government on this precise program.
I didn't think that the article was questioning the veracity of the program itself but the implementation of it. As argued in the article, there must be more checks and balances built into it to ensure that accountability is upheld throught the process because the victim that the state is dealing with is defenseless and voiceless.
