Home- this side of adoption

We've had our sweet baby girl in our arms now for exactly 10 months today! It has been so fun watching her blossom, unfolding the petals and being comfortable living out who she is.

When we first picked her up she was such a momma's girl, and she still is. However, each day she gets closer to her Daddy, and since he has been putting her to bed at night it has really helped with their bonding. People say that it takes the same amount of time being home that they lived in the orphanage for them to be fully themselves here. Well, I can't wait to see if she feels even more comfortable in about a month, but she sure seems at home now. She has great times playing with her brothers and sisters that she loves so much. She gets in to things also, which shows us that she is comfortable enough to let herself show through. When I think about it, how can I mind too much when I need to tell her for the umpteenth time not to push the keys on the keyboard when I am trying to type a mail and then something goes awry? We are so blessed to have this little one join our family.

Hi Lynda,

I loved reading your post. The warmth in your family is evident from your post. I also got an insight into how the child might be feeling. Reading these posts makes me more determined to adopt a girl myslef.

Thanks!
