Why today is called a “Black Friday”?

I always wondered why the day after Thanksgiving Day is called “Black Friday” (BF). Those of you who are not living in the United States, 4th Thursday in the month of November is observed as a “Thanksgiving Day” and it is day of national relevance there and the Friday following is the BF.

It is the day that the formal Christmas season begins in the US. Retailers get plenty of customers, customers spend long hours doing their shopping and obviously the employees have to slog. So I wondered why is it a BF and for whom?

So I did a little research and what I found is very interesting. Click here to read what I found.
