Heritage Camp- The best age to attend?

Adoption discussion #6

Today we attended our first heritage camp with Sananda. This camp didn't have any kids our baby's age and none of them came from the same orphanage as she did. But, we wanted to attend some events that are closer to our home and more doable for us at this time. We weren't sure what effect it would have on our little 15 month girl but were curious how she would react. The camp was great with fun activities, wonderful Indian food, and very nice families to interact with. But the sweetest thing was to see Sananda notice the other children there. When we first got out of our vehicle a family with 4 children from India walked by and she definately noticed them. When we go to a store and see Indian people there she doesn't seem to pay too much mind to them, but today when those children walked by she really looked them over and pointed and started babbling. She also enjoyed interacting with some of the other kids later on in the day and I could tell that she was loving it. She loves playing with our children too but I think she really noticed something about the Indian children there, that they had something in common. I am hoping we can get together with some other families that brought home kids from her orphanage around the same time that Sananda came home. It would be really fun to see them all together and watch them interact. It was nice, for not just Sananda but, for our whole family to be with other families like ours. After going today I think that even at a young age our children can benefit from going to Heritage camp. What do you think the best age is to start going? How did your children react at thier first Heritage camp?
