Adoption tip # 27

In the United States of America, adoptive families are entitled for time off under Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). FMLA is not a paid time off but if you like to make it into a paid time off, accumulate sick time against which FMLA can be used and get paid while you're bonding and taking care of your new arrival. However making FMLA into a paid time off is individual employer's prerogative.
