I want to adopt from India but take anti-depressants. Will I be rejected as a candidate? What are India's views on adopting to people who take anti-depressants?
I don’t think there’s a specific reference to anti-depressants but what the health report is possibly looking for is for two things namely prognosis of the illness and the ability of the prospective parents to care for the child.
If you’re honest with your social worker (during the home study) for the reasons you take the medications and how it has been helping you and what do you see the future for yourself, which should be backed up with a medical report, will be immensely helpful in decision making process for an agency.
