How to promote domestic adoptions?

Now since we have discussed the “WHY” issue of promoting domestic adoptions, I would like for us to discuss the “HOW” factor.

Many times when you ask people this question: How do we promote domestic adoptions, we hear answers that are mostly philosophical and impractical with legalistic lingo involved in it.

We have many individuals that like to recognize themselves as “(Anti)Adoption Activists” in India whose efforts can only be explained by none other than themselves. Anti adoption activists at least have an agenda that they go after with vengeance where as the pro adoption activists seldom have creative ways to address the issue of adoption in India.

I suggest that any effort that is put in place to promote domestic adoptions in India must pass the test of three factors:

1. Tangibility.
2. Measurable.
3. Far reaching.

Tangibility is referred to as the ability to be “real or actual, rather than imaginary or visionary” as per dictionary.com. Tangibility is where the philosophical and impractical suggestions will fail.

Measurable is the ability to be able to measure to identify the problem to come up with answers that also can be measured to assess the impact.

Far reaching is when we take measures that reach the maximum number of people of India.

What you can do: If you believe that the measures to be taken to promote domestic adoptions must meet the criteria of tangibility, measurable, and far reaching factors, cut and paste to send this following message to CARA at this email address: cara@bol.net.in

Mr. J.K. Mittal
Chairman of CARA
New Delhi.

Respected Sir,

I would like CARA to consider all the decisions that will be taken to promote domestic adoptions be checked for “tangibility”, “measurable” and “far reaching” factors.

I would also appreciate if you could review all the decisions that have already been taken to check against the three factors that I had mentioned.

Sincerely
