Neat gift idea

We had a welcome home party for our older daughter in 2002. We invited all our friends, colleagues and neighbours. Many brought gifts and greetings but one of the gift that we received was very very special and we still have it.

Scott - my colleague and his wife came home the night before and asked us if they could take foot prints of six months old Lydia. When asked, they refuse to divulge the details. What they did was: they took two foot prints side by side on a card stock. They used some kind of black ink that doesn't smudge but gives neat borders. They wrote her full name at the bottom using a very beautiful scriptic font. Then they used a table stand photo frame to store it. It's a very small gift but a powerful and a meningful gift.

My wife kept it on our dressing table so that we get to see it everyday. Now that my daughter's foot has grown almost four times larger, she gets a kick out to look at it. This also give us another opportunity to talk about her adoption of how it was celebrated.
