Adoption tip # 11

For families in the US: Check with your local doctor at the start of your process to find out if there is a notary in your doctor’s office. If there isn’t – you might consider going to a different doctor for your adoption medicals as most have to be notarized. If you check on this ahead of time it will help you avoid the frustration of it causing a delay when you are putting together your dossier. Also prepare your doctor ahead of time that you may have to ask for two or three different documents to be filled out/notarized as you go through this process. Become familiar with the office staff at your doctor’s office.
