For families in the US: Start a folder or file with all of our adoption paperwork and keep a copy of everything! Sections to include would be: Application paperwork, home study paperwork, CIS paperwork, Dossier paperwork, Referral paperwork, acceptance paperwork, Travel paperwork. Also keep a folder with receipts for everything you do including mailing costs, copying costs, any fees paid for letters, dossier processing fees etc.. you will need those receipts when you claim the adoption tax credit.
